BUILDING SAFEGUARDING EXCELLENCE BANGLADESH

about

WELCOME TO THE
BANGLADESH SAFEGUARDING ALLIANCE
FOR EDUCATORS

BSAFE sets the best international standards for safeguarding in Bangladesh.

We aim to affect all contexts where children are learning, from schools and care homes, from training and tutorial centres,  sports coaching and work placements. We aim to ensure that all children feel safe, happy and successful.

Founded in partnership with The Safeguarding Alliance, the global leader in international action, we set targets that are ambitious in scope and enduring in impact. The safety of children and young people in Bangladesh drives everything we do.

With clear Terms of Reference, we wish to leave a legacy that the nation can be proud of and an exemplar for other countries. We go beyond words and focus on actions. With a mission to build safeguarding excellence in Bangladesh, we work at the institutional level to influence policy and shape practice across the country.

We work with government agencies to set a national strategy on safeguarding. We work with insurance companies to insist that education clients have policies, procedures and annual reports on safeguarding. We work with local enforcement agencies to audit and report on safeguarding standards across Bangladesh.

We conduct risk audits at national, regional and institutional levels. With transparency and accountability, we promote awareness, education and training, via our national centre for excellence. With links to international safeguarding agencies, we give guidance on criminal record checks for recruitment purposes and advise government on the latest developments in safeguarding law, research and best practice.

BSAFE for safeguarding change.

Safeguarding success depends on the active involvement of our members. Every child and young person has a right to be safeguarded in their learning.

Let’s make it happen, together.
